Carrie Cardinal

Carrie Cardinal

Carrie the Carrier

Carrie was a born leader. Ever since she was a little girl she’s always liked to be in the know about everything. If there was rumor going around she was the one that had the real story. Her mother was very similar, at least from what Carrie remembered. At 5 years old, Carrie was abandoned at the fire department in the middle of the night after her mother got an invite to live with her rich boyfriend in the Bahamas. The only catch—he hated kids.

She was adopted quickly by a couple of pigeons that ran the local post office. Maurice and Jean had been wanting a child of their own for years but due to a mysterious illness she developed as a teenager, Jean was unable to conceive. The two pigeons felt hopeless after also being repeatedly denied by the adoption agency who claimed their income was not enough to support a child. Luckily, Maurice was very close with the fire chief who called him immediately when an adorable little cardinal was left on his doorstep. Carrie couldn’t have chosen a better family though because Jean and Maurice welcomed her into their home as one of their own—even though she was a completely different color.

In high school she was very popular but was unfortunately not very good at completing her homework. Thus upon graduation when all her friends were flying off to Swamp State University and Kingfisher College, Carrie was stuck learning the family business and delivering Zoomu packages to all the boomer birds at the retirement community, Sparrow House. Always an optimist though, she took on her job with passion and quickly became an important fixture of the forest community. On top of her friendly outlook on life, she was also very talented at the guitar and outdid all the other acts at the open mic each week with her band, The Dixie Chickadees. A producer from Feather Records was at their last show and if all goes well they’ll be releasing a demo soon.
